Unstable signals emitted from an old CRT television, the breathing rhythm of a plant extending its roots, and the repetitive movements of the human body intersect within a single frame. Although these elements speak different languages and follow distinct rhythms, they subtly resonate with one another, as if acknowledging each other’s presence through gentle vibrations.
The work explores invisible signals and energies embedded within a city. Even within systems of control and surveillance, life persistently reveals itself. Flickering light and flowing currents in the image resemble the pulse of the city, while life quietly resists, reaching out toward one another from within.
In the intervals where signals are transmitted and interrupted, the human body, vegetal growth, and electronic traces overlap, briefly forming a new “city of connection.” In this moment, the city transforms from a mechanical construct into a living space—one that senses, responds, and recognizes the presence of others.
오래된 브라운관에서 흘러나오는 불안정한 신호, 뿌리를 뻗으며 자라나는 식물의 호흡, 반복적으로 움직이는 인간의 몸은 하나의 화면 안에서 교차한다. 이 세 가지 요소는 서로 다른 리듬과 언어를 지닌 존재이지만, 마치 서로의 존재를 감지하듯 미세한 흔들림을 주고받는다.
본 작품은 하나의 도시 안에 존재하지만 쉽게 인식되지 않는 신호와 에너지를 탐색한다. 통제와 감시의 체계로 이루어진 도시 환경 속에서도 생명은 끊임없이 자신을 드러내며 존재를 지속한다. 화면 속에서 깜박이는 빛과 전류의 흐름은 도시의 맥박처럼 이어지고, 그 안에서 생명은 조용한 저항의 몸짓으로 서로를 향해 손을 뻗는다.
신호가 전송되고 단절되는 순간들 사이에서 인간의 신체 움직임, 식물의 성장, 전자적 흔적은 겹쳐지며 하나의 새로운 ‘연결의 도시’를 형성한다. 그 순간 도시는 더 이상 기계적 구조물이 아니라, 서로의 존재를 인식하고 반응하는 살아 있는 공간으로 전환된다.
